Soon on your drive dashboard you'll be getting a pop-up saying "we are closing.........."
Actually, if you are some one who use drive a lot this is a nightmare come true.
Because the first thing that strikes your mind is what about my stored datas? Will it be gone?? What can/should do??
Relax, Logically Google drive is not shutting down , you can say it's Evlolving😉
The Google drive will soon be known as Backup & Sync.
Frankly I'm one of them who thought that Google drive is a bit sluggish in operation. So, in this iteration of Google drive, Backup & Sync it aims to provide seamless operation like it's biggest compitator DropBox.
Like DropBox, on Backup & Sync you'll be able to upload by using check boxes instead of old annoying alert boxes which makes it feel like it's sluggish..
Google has taken it's compitation seriously and brings you a killer plan with this make over that is unlimited Images, Audios and Videos Backup. Which was Free 15GB storage after 15GB it would be paid.
Coming to the already stored data it is literally untouched.
The offer of unlimited storage as a catch, the images are compressed if image size is more than 16MB like wise Videos are compressed if resolution of Video is more than 1080p to 1080p(Full HD), it may cause some discomfort with professional photographers and videographers who shoot in 4K but for a normal, plain, ordinary mobile photographers and videographers it's still a killer plan.
Another update with Backup & Sync is another service called File stream which is for those who used Google drive for sharing files and File stream is not a free service it comes for fair price(latest official update)
